About The Position

The Apparel Sales Associate performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience and helps customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.

The associate demonstrates products, maintains product knowledge through ongoing training, replenishes and restocks merchandise, maintains pricing and signage, and assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves. The position also involves keeping the work area clean, neat, and stocked, and following company policies and procedures. Duties may include other tasks as assigned.

Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures and some innovation. The associate chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems, occasionally uses independent judgment, and often makes recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. The stated starting pay rate is $15.40–$16.75. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more using a team lift as needed.

• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
