About The Position

Unisync is a leading provider of award winning North American Corporate Apparel, and Public Safety, Law Enforcement Uniform, Equipment supplies and protective garments across Canada and the United States. Our customer base includes Air Canada, WestJet, Canadian Coast Guard, Purolator, Petro Canada, Home Hardware, Alaska Airlines and a broad base of government entities such as the Federal Government of Canada. Job Summary: The Product Developer plans, designs and develops garments for uniform account programs. The Product Developer ensures that garments are developed efficiently and meet design specifications and quality. Please note this position is on-site, 5 days a week in office required

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in fashion design
  • Experience in apparel design, sketching, technical drawings, technical packages
  • Experience in conducting fit sessions
  • Minimum 6 months experience
  • Garment construction, Point of Measurement and fabric materials properties knowledge,

Responsibilities

  • Review production samples (fabric approval, trims approval, label approval, embellishment approval, PP/TOP approval).
  • Develop fabric/trims/garments/embellishment for uniform program accounts
  • Prepare artworks for accessories/garments/embellishments. Prepare a visual mockup of the finished garment
  • Prepare garment tech packs, including BOM, garment construction, specifications, and design details – maintain Tech Packs up to date.
  • Monitor and track trims, fabrics, lab dips, and samples (checking submissions from factories, including lab dips, bulk fabric, and print and embellishment submissions)
  • Manage the development calendar, collaborating with the Production team
  • Organize and maintain a library of samples, bulk fabrics & trims
  • Communicate with factories to track development process to ensure deadlines are met and solve problems throughout the sampling and production phase.
  • Participate in fittings and style reviews with technical design team to ensure collection details, fit and standards are communicated clearly. Measuring and photographing prototypes. Taking detailed notes of the required fit and construction corrections and conveying corrections to factories. Performing fabric/garment wash test during development process to test the performance of the fabric.
