About The Position

Carilion Clinic is seeking a compassionate and skilled APP's (NP or PA) to join Carilion Family and Internal Medicine in Martinsville, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality, patient-centered internal medicine within a collaborative and well-established healthcare system. The APP will provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients in an outpatient internal medicine setting. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, clinically strong, and committed to delivering exceptional care across a diverse patient population.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or eligibility)
  • National board certification
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers.
  • Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • 0 years of experience
  • Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
  • AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internal medicine or primary care experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Advanced Life Support certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform health assessments, preventive care, and patient education
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and care team members
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement and population health initiatives
