APP (NP/PA) - Neurology - Cognitive and Movement
About The Position
The Neurology Team at Lahey Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Cognitive and Movement Neurology service. This role is within a collaborative, world-class academic environment. The Cognitive, Memory & Behavioral Program comprises 2 MDs, 2 APPs, and 2 PhDs, specializing in advanced neurological and memory disorders. The Movement Program comprises 4 MDs and 2 APPs specializing in Parkinson’s, Dystonia, Ataxia and other movement disorders, with an active DBS program. There is routine cross-specialty coordination with Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology, and Psychiatry. The role also involves active involvement in ongoing clinical trials focusing on headache management and cognitive neurology therapeutics.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong clinical decision-making capabilities.
- A commitment to family-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Manage outpatient follow-up care for established cognitive and movement neurology patients.
- Progress to evaluating and diagnosing new patients within the cognitive and movement subspecialties as clinical experience grows.
- Receive hands-on procedural training in outpatient interventions, including Botox administration, peripheral nerve blocks, and lumbar punctures.
- Training in DBS programming.
- Practice semi-autonomously under direct physician guidance within a collegial, collaborative, and respectful environment.
