About The Position

This Fellowship is a 12-month opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to obtain invaluable education and clinical experience in pediatric emergency medicine at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, a pediatric trauma center serving the entire Intermountain West. We are thrilled to offer one advanced practice provider (APP) fellow an exciting opportunity to learn the essential skills, confidence and clinical judgement to provide exceptional care to acutely ill and injured children. The fellowship will provide a phased orientation to pediatric emergency medicine, functioning under the supervision of skilled advanced practice providers and physicians, gaining independence as the year progresses. The fellow will join a team of nineteen advanced practice providers with a wide range of clinical experience and background. The APP can anticipate caring for between 100-150 patients per month by the end of their fellowship. APPs in the emergency department help to care for critically ill patients, patients in the trauma bay, perform various procedures and care for patients across all acuity levels. The advanced practice provider will work together with a growing team of 49 attendings, enjoying a culture of inclusion as an important part of the emergency department team. The fellowship will consist of clinical orientation in the pediatric emergency department at both campuses. The APP fellow will also have the opportunity to rotate with pediatric subspecialties including Pediatric General Surgery and Trauma, Pediatric Intensive Care, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology and Oncology teams.
