About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Apigee Cloud Platform Engineer with a strong background in DevOps, DevSecOps, and cloud platform engineering within a hybrid cloud environment (GCP + AWS). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Hashicorp Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and a proven track record in designing, developing, and implementing APIs using the Apigee platform. This role requires a deep understanding of API management lifecycle components, strong automation skills, and hands-on experience with GCP networking and administration. The engineer will be responsible for building reusable API proxies, ensuring smooth API integration, and troubleshooting complex issues across applications, networking, and systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps / DevSecOps / cloud platform engineering experience in a hybrid cloud environment (GCP + AWS).
• 3+ years of proven experience using Hashicorp Terraform for Infrastructure as Code to write advanced modules for deploying infrastructure or services.
• 3+ years of proven experience designing, developing, and implementing APIs using the Apigee platform.
• Strong understanding of API management life cycle components like creating environments, virtual hosts, API proxies, and cache.
• Strong automation skills; Configuration management, Python/bash or equivalent scripting experience.
• Working knowledge and experience with Cloud (GCP) Networking components and technologies.
• Advanced applied knowledge and experience using some of the following tools: Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, Python, Splunk.
• Strong, hands-on GCP cloud engineering and administration experience.
• Possess troubleshooting skills that span applications, networking, and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative but able to work autonomously with minimal guidance in a rapidly changing environment.
• Self-driven, willing to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement APIs using the Apigee platform, focusing on building reusable API proxies and ensuring smooth API integration.
• Utilize Hashicorp Terraform for Infrastructure as Code to write advanced modules for deploying infrastructure or services, providing automated and self-service deployment capabilities.
• Manage and configure API management life cycle components including environments, virtual hosts, API proxies, and cache.
• Apply strong automation skills for configuration management and scripting using Python/bash or equivalent.
• Work with Cloud (GCP) Networking components and technologies.
• Utilize tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, Python, and Splunk.
• Perform GCP cloud engineering and administration.
• Troubleshoot issues spanning applications, networking, and systems.
• Collaborate with team members while also working autonomously with minimal guidance.
• Adapt to a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment.
