About The Position

The API Tester – POS is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of retail Point of Sale (POS) systems and integrated platforms. This role focuses on API, functional, database, and cloud-based testing within an Agile delivery model, working closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable and production‑ready retail solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as an Agile Functional / API Tester
  • Strong experience in API Testing and Functional Testing
  • Hands‑on DB Testing experience using SQL Server and Cosmos DB
  • Experience working in Agile Methodology
  • Proficiency with Test Management tools – Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for defect analysis and root cause identification
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • POS Testing experience within retail environments
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift
  • Test Automation experience (Selenium / REST automation preferred)
  • Experience testing retail or POS applications is a strong advantage

Responsibilities

  • Execute testing for POS, retail, and backend applications.
  • Debug issues and identify root causes in both test and production environments using logs, queries, and system traces.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to resolve defects early and improve overall quality.
  • Maintain and manage test cases, execution results, defects, and quality metrics using Azure DevOps (ADO) / Test Management tools.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Support CI/CD validation and deployments in cloud‑based environments.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure POS systems meet retail business and operational requirements.
