API Product Manager
About The Position
Are you ready to shape the future of digital insurance? As an API Product Manager at If, you'll be at the heart of our digital transformation, enabling new business opportunities and great customer experiences through APIs, IAM and AI. You will impact the development and lifecycle management of API Products across our business areas and countries. Your work ensures our APIs are secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs - including AI integration and compliance with IAM and security standards. You'll collaborate closely with developers, architects, legal, and business stakeholders to enable teams to deliver robust and compliant APIs. You'll guide teams in producing and consuming APIs, lead risk assessments for external partners, and create engaging content for our Developer Portal. Your role is central to cross-functional projects, delivering new API Products and AI capabilities, and promoting API-first thinking across the organization.
Requirements
- Understanding of API architecture, security risks, and IAM protocols
- Experience working in complex organizational and technical setups
- Awareness of AI applications and their integration with APIs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive change
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Solid educational background, in either technology or business, preferably higher education degree
- Product manager at heart, familiar with agile methodologies and skilled at applying product management principles to data, processes, or tech
- Thriving at the intersection of business and IT, you build trust across stakeholder groups
- With curiosity and a hands-on mindset, you tackle changes head-on, combining structure with a results-driven approach
