About The Position

The Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance's (API PA) mission is to build long-term power for Asians and Pacific Islanders in Pennsylvania. This role involves engaging in culturally competent and linguistically accessible direct voter contact with communities, primarily in South Asian, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese communities. API PA is the first and only political organization directly advocating for the needs of Asian and Pacific Islanders in Pennsylvania. The organization aims to ensure these communities have political power and the resources needed to be safe, healthy, and strong. The work is part of programs focused on understanding community issues, encouraging voter registration and participation, educating individuals on elections and candidates, and providing in-language support for voting needs. The organization seeks passionate individuals with good listening and communication skills to speak with voters, with an emphasis on Asian Pacific Islander voters. API PA will provide training and materials, including PPE. They aim to invest in canvassers through meaningful work, constructive feedback, and exposure to policy/advocacy opportunities. Individuals passionate about progressive and equitable systems, especially for the betterment and empowerment of Asian Pacific Islander communities, are encouraged to apply.
