About The Position

Turner Specialty Services is looking for an experienced API Unit Inspector (510/570/653) for work in the Port Allen, LA area. This role will perform duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance to referencing code. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Site Manager, with close supervision and assigned duties according to specific procedures. The work is checked frequently.

Requirements

Must have valid driver's license
Must have TWIC card
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
API 510/570/653 Certifications
Ability to pass a background check and drug test
Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
Must be able to pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Must adhere to job site safety requirements as required by the client (e.g., clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots).
Must use safety equipment as required by the client (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard).
Possess functional knowledge of industry codes and standards such as API 510/570/650/653.
Possess a good level of functionality with Plant Conditioning Monitoring System (PCMS) software.
Have a practical understanding of Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity (FEMI).

Responsibilities

Perform duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance with referencing code.
Assess all fixed equipment mechanical failures and assist in diagnosing the root cause of failures.
Supervise NDE technicians in data collection efforts for the CML program.
Plan, schedule, manage data entry for Plant Conditioning Monitoring System (PCMS) software, ensure data quality, and write reports for data filtering.
Review and approve mechanical and pipe isometric drawings by 3rd party fabrication and design engineering companies.
Review and approve welding and PWHT procedures by 3rd party fabrication and design engineering companies.
Assist Chief Inspector with collecting and providing monthly executive summaries of departmental duties and critical KPIs.
Create and review turnaround scope with regards to MI requirements and scheduled inspection due dates.
Perform turnaround report writing, proofing, and data analysis, including thickness measurement analysis and recommendations.
Review and update Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity (FEMI) procedures.
Supervise other departmental critical surveys to ensure operational security and site reliability.
Perform other duties/assignments as required.
