About The Position

HealthPartners is offering a 12-month postgraduate fellowship program for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in urgent care. The program is designed to support new graduate APCs in their transition to practice or experienced APCs transitioning to a new specialty. It provides comprehensive clinical and didactic experiences to foster competence and confidence in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care for acute and urgent medical conditions in an outpatient setting. Training takes place in HealthPartners clinics across the Twin Cities, utilizing diverse rotations, didactic lectures, skills training, and structured mentorship to equip fellows with the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence for a successful career in urgent care. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program (applicants may be in their final year, with hiring dependent upon successful completion)
  • Current national certification by the NCCPA (for Physician Assistants)
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota (for Physician Assistants)
  • Current national certification by the AANP, ANCC or AACN (for Nurse Practitioners)
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota (for Nurse Practitioners)
  • Current licensure to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota (for Nurse Practitioners)
  • Resume
  • Personal statement describing motivation for pursuing the fellowship and interest in Urgent Care
  • Three professional letters of recommendation (one from a prior clinical preceptor required)
  • Transcript (unofficial or official)

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates are welcome to apply prior to having formal licensure and certification but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.
