About The Position

MAA is looking for an Apartment Maintenance Technician in West Austin to perform general maintenance and repair to ensure apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order. The role involves preparing apartments for move-in and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various systems and appliances. Maintenance associates at MAA have the opportunity to achieve industry-recognized certifications through in-house proctors and access to over 750 courses and videos on demand.

Requirements

One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair
HVAC experience required
EPA Type II or EPA Universal required at hire or within 90 days of start date
Valid driver’s license from the state of residence

Responsibilities

Performing general maintenance and repair to ensure apartment homes and other property facilities are in good working order
Preparing apartments for move-in
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing, carpentry, and locks
Following a planned preventative maintenance schedule
Following up with residents after repairs are complete
