About The Position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repairs to keep apartment homes and other property facilities in good working order. The role includes preparing apartments for move-in; diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC units, electrical appliances, outlets and light fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, and locks; following a planned preventative maintenance schedule; and following up with residents after repairs are complete. MAA provides maintenance associates opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications through in-house certified proctors, including EPA Type II or EPA Universal Certification, R410A Safety and Low Global Warming refrigerants certifications, and Certified Pool Operator certification. Associates also have access to more than 750 courses and on-demand how-to videos through mobile devices.

Requirements

One to three years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair.
HVAC experience required.
EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days of the start date.
Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
