About The Position

Barge Properties is seeking a reliable and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and operation of our multifamily communities throughout Texas. This hands-on maintenance position is responsible for completing service requests, performing preventative maintenance, preparing apartments for new residents, and helping maintain a safe, attractive, and well-functioning community. If you have experience in apartment maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, make ready operations, or general building maintenance, we'd love to hear from you. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience maintaining apartment communities, multifamily properties, commercial facilities, or residential buildings. Success in this role comes from a strong work ethic, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently, and a commitment to providing excellent service to residents and teammates.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in apartment maintenance, multifamily maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or property maintenance
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs independently
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Complete resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, appliances, and building systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance across the property
  • Assist with apartment turns and make-ready projects
  • Prepare vacant apartments for new resident move-ins
  • Maintain property grounds, common areas, and building exteriors as needed
  • Follow safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and company procedures
  • Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records
  • Assist with emergency maintenance situations and on-call responsibilities
  • Support property inspections and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues
  • Collaborate with property management teams to maintain resident satisfaction
