About The Position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks throughout the day, involving maintaining the property with interior and exterior repairs and upkeep. This role responds to resident requests for repairs and prepares units to be market-ready for the next resident. The maintenance team works with a customer focus in a safe and safety-conscious environment. Willingness to learn and basic knowledge of tools, household appliances, and structures is a starting point.

Requirements

  • Pre-employment drug screening and criminal screening.
  • A driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, bend, and lift objects regularly throughout the day.
  • Frequent standing and use of arms and legs.
  • Physically lift 10 or more pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Weights exceeding 50 pounds must be accomplished with assistance from one or more people.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to resident work orders (leaky faucet, door hinges, locks)
  • Repairing and unclogging toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains.
  • Installing and repairing wires, plugs, and switches.
  • Repairing broken or damaged items.
  • Assisting in maintaining the grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up trash and debris, pressure-washing breezeways, and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
  • Completing documentation and other paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion so that service requests can be appropriately documented for internal reports.
  • Assisting in conducting routine and periodic property inspections to identify safety and risk management concerns, keep the property in good repair, and communicate concerns about the physical needs of the property to management.
  • Accurate documentation of required community logs for regulations.
  • Attending monthly safety meetings performed by the property manager.
