About The Position

CAPREIT is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and customer-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to join our family at the Belmont apartment community in Fredericksburg, Virginia. As a national property management company, CAPREIT is responsible for managing multifamily housing communities across the United States. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the community, managing maintenance staff, and interacting professionally with residents and vendors.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of apartment maintenance experience
• Previous maintenance supervisor experience
• A valid CFC with Type I and II or with Universal certification is required
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to respond to on-call emergencies, when needed
• Ability to provide your own basic tools
• Computer literacy skills
• A high school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace individual heating and A/C units, water heaters, appliances, plumbing and electrical systems, asphalt, building interiors and exteriors, drainage systems, and remodeling carpentry.
• Schedule service requests, prepare and schedule vacant turnovers, take inventory, order supplies, schedule contractors, establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program, and complete periodic inspections and capital improvements.
• Hire, train, and supervise maintenance personnel.
• Interact with residents, prospective residents, and vendors in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
