About The Position

The Apartment Community Maintenance Technician at Wilkeswood Apartments performs a variety of interior and exterior repair and upkeep tasks to maintain the property. This role involves responding to resident requests, preparing units to be market-ready, and contributing to a safe and customer-focused environment. The technician is responsible for the upkeep of apartment homes, pool area, dumpster areas, amenity areas, common areas, maintenance shop, and leasing office.

Requirements

  • Pre-employment drug screening and criminal screening
  • A driver’s license is required
  • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, and lift objects regularly throughout the day
  • Frequent standing and use of arms and legs
  • Ability to physically lift 10 or more pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Weights exceeding 50 pounds must be accomplished with assistance from one or more people

Responsibilities

  • Responding to resident work orders
  • Repairing and unclogging toilets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, and exterior drains
  • Installing and repairing wires, plugs, and switches
  • Repairing broken or damaged items
  • Basic pool maintenance
  • Snow removal
  • Assisting in maintaining the grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up trash and debris, pressure-washing breezeways, and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed
  • Completing documentation and other paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete fashion so that service requests can be appropriately documented for internal reports
  • Assisting in conducting routine and periodic property inspections to identify safety and risk management concerns, keep the property in good repair, and communicate concerns about the physical needs of the property to management
  • Accurate documentation of required community logs for regulations
  • Attending monthly safety meetings performed by the Property Manager
