Statistics – 1:1 High School Teacher
About The Position
The School for Independent Learners (SIL) is seeking a part-time, in-person AP Statistics Teacher to provide primarily one-to-one instruction to high school students. SIL is a small, WASC-accredited private high school located in Los Altos, CA, offering a safe, nurturing, and close-knit learning community with a thoughtfully developed, UC-approved curriculum. Classes are taught in real time and are primarily in person, with limited virtual instruction when appropriate. The school supports its teachers, with an average tenure of approximately seven years, and offers a flexible environment that has allowed faculty to pursue advanced degrees while teaching.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience, preferably at the high-school level or above.
- Comfortable teaching AP Statistics.
- Comfortable teaching College-preparatory Statistics.
- Comfortable teaching Probability and statistical reasoning.
- Comfortable teaching Data analysis, interpretation, and application.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching additional mathematics courses.
