Teacher Tutors•Livingston, NJ
•$40 - $50

About The Position

Teacher Tutors is hiring an experienced part-time Humanities tutor to provide one-on-one support to high school students in honors and AP-level English, history, and social science courses. The role is suited to an educator with extensive AP instruction experience, strong analytical reading and writing skills, and an interest in individualized student support. Students range from those developing core skills to those preparing for advanced AP coursework and exams. Tutoring sessions take place in students’ homes, at a library, at the company’s Livingston, New Jersey office, or online. Most clients prefer in-person tutoring. Tutors set a preferred travel radius, and the company matches them with families within that range. The position is part-time and flexible, with availability needed during afternoons, evenings, or weekends in the school year and additional capacity around exam season and finals. Compensation is $40–$50 per hour, based on degree and experience. Most part-time tutors join as W-2 employees; 1099 contractor status is also available subject to specified insurance and LLC requirements.
