About The Position

We’re gearing up for the launch of our AOS Welding Associate Degree Program—and we need outstanding welding faculty to make it happen! This role involves maintaining accurate student records, advising students on attendance, grades, and discipline, and creating and maintaining a safe learning environment. Instructors are responsible for managing, issuing, inspecting, repairing, and teaching proper handling of classroom tools. They also manage and maintain classroom equipment, evaluate and order parts, and perform repairs. A key responsibility is to use experience to continuously evaluate and ensure the relevance of the curriculum. Instructors must conform to prescribed record-keeping methods, communicate promptly regarding necessary supplies, and maintain working field knowledge through continuing education and professional development. Attendance at semi-annual graduation ceremonies is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) required (CAWI acceptable if CWI is achieved within 1 year).
  • 4–5 years recent industry experience (NDT, QA, fabrication).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • AWS SCWI (Senior Certified Welding Inspector).
  • ASNT Level III in applicable NDT methods (UT, MT, RT, PT, ET).
  • OSHA 30, Radiation Safety, or equivalent regulatory training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate record keeping for student attendance and grades.
  • Advise students on attendance, grades, and discipline issues.
  • Create and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Manage all tools assigned to the classroom, including issuing, inspecting, repairing, and teaching proper handling.
  • Communicate, support, and enforce school policies and procedures.
  • Ensure an ethical and fair testing environment during periods of testing.
  • Maintain classroom equipment through evaluation, inspection, parts ordering, and repair.
  • Continuously evaluate the curriculum to ensure continuing relevance.
  • Conform to prescribed methods of record keeping as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Communicate promptly regarding supplies, tools, or other essentials needed for students.
  • Maintain working field knowledge through continuing education and demonstrate continuing professional development.
  • Attend semi-annual graduation ceremonies.
