About The Position

The Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Operator uses optical equipment to detect defects on cores, subs and outer layer panels. The AOI Operator sets up the AOI equipment and scans manufacturing panels for defects. The AOI operator(s) are responsible for the scanning, verification and identification of defects on all panels being processed. They will also utilize the post-etch punch to place tooling holes on all inner layer cores which are used for registration. There are a variety of possible job duties for the AOI area that the operators are expected to perform.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.
  • Understand basic arithmetic in reference to instructions where interpretations are required
  • Limited use in understanding blueprints and specifications
  • Ability to visually verify fine detail work via verification station or stereo microscope
  • Ability to understand and follow directions regarding inspection of all cores and panels
  • Moderate physical lifting or moving of finished cores or panels to the next operation (approx. 10 - 15 lbs.)
  • Willingness to learn required function and continue learning to expand abilities for growth
  • Ability to multifunction
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop traveler to verify that all previous operations were completed, as well as tool number, part number, work order and quantity matches.
  • Able to enter jobs and quality information in a computer application
  • Operator Punch Machine(s) to place tooling on cores
  • Set up and scan all cores, subs and outer layer panels as well as validate the system finding and identifying discrepancy prior to moving to rework area when applicable
  • When applicable verifying cores using the HIPOT test equipment
  • Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately
  • Understanding acceptance criteria that is set in place for the AOI department (AOl inspection and rework instructions)
  • Maintain a safe, neat and orderly workplace
