Antenna Test Range Technician
About The Position
The Antenna Test Range Technician conducts antenna and radar cross section (RCS) testing at dedicated facilities, independently or as part of a team. The role involves taking measurements with software data analysis tools, multimeters, network analyzers, and other electronic and RF equipment, with minimal supervision. The technician performs limited troubleshooting and minor modifications to test equipment configurations, along with limited fabrication and mechanical assembly duties. The position requires standard computer use, clear written and verbal communication with team members and senior engineering and management staff, and the ability to convey issues encountered during testing. Work takes place onsite at a BAE Systems facility and may involve elevated spaces, loading and unloading test articles by hand or with hoists and similar equipment, lifting loads up to 50 pounds, and routine handling of chemicals and materials.
Requirements
- Familiarity with commercial test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with basic Windows computer operation, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and File Explorer.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools.
- Ability and desire to perform hands-on work, with good dexterity and balance.
- Active Security Clearance (Secret or higher).
- Ability to work in elevated spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
