About The Position

Under general supervision, provides support and assistance to the Annuity Care Department to facilitate the processing of annuity applications submitted by financial advisors/agents. The Specialist is responsible for coordinating requirements gathering on behalf of the insurance company, communicating with carriers and financial advisors/agents as necessary throughout the process, and identifying and resolving issues favorably. The Specialist works closely with the Annuity Care Associate and other team members to ensure client satisfaction. All assigned job responsibilities and projects will be consistent with department policy guidelines and procedures.

Regulations for specific assigned functional area
Communicating detailed information provided by insurance company to clearly provide financial advisors/agents with status and course of action
Relaying information to insurance carriers to help ensure best practices
Identifying potential issues related to annuity processing
Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases
Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both orally and writing, with internal associates and external contacts at all levels
Effectively gather all relevant information in order to analyze, research, and resolve business issues in order to make decisions
Analyzing data to identify discrepancies
Problem solving
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the areas of annuities, life insurance, long-term care, and/or disability income products or financial services industry or customer service
Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources

Responsibilities

Perform review of annuity applications and requirements
Perform timely entry of initial application
Keep abreast of product changes and deadlines
Prioritize application processing based on approaching deadlines
Work with licensing team on issues related to submitted business
Input requirements into database and review for accuracy
Verify appropriate contract structure and like registration to brokerage accounts
Submit good order applications to insurance carriers
Send follow up notices to financial advisors/agents until processing requirements are completed
Review and respond to various requests from financial advisors
Communicate with insurance companies regarding submitted business or issues
Support end of day process which may include balancing with appropriate wire accounts and/or submitted business reports
Close cases that are not in good order in appropriate timeframe
Support Annuity Care Associate with necessary tasks
Complete secondary application review for Annuity Care Associates as needed
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
