About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, tracking, and executing solicitation strategies for all unrestricted donor households to the Museum, including donors under major gift management, Trustees, Women’s Board members, and Founders’ Council and Discovery Circle members. This role works alongside the Individual Giving and Major Gifts team to support fundraising strategies. The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for executing acquisition and renewal campaigns, creating customized proposals and donor communications, analyzing individual giving performance, and supporting the donor experience. This includes managing solicitation calendars, coordinating segmented appeals, and appeals analysis (with careful attention to donor retention, upgrades, and stewardship). This position requires exceptional project management skills, comfort working in collaboration and being accountable to multiple projects and peers, and a strong ability to manage and organize data for solicitations, measuring results and informing decisions. The Annual Giving Manager reports to the Founders’ Council Senior Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • 3+ years in fundraising, ideally with in a cultural institution
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Comfort working with data, specifically developing dashboards and reports, ideally in Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute a comprehensive, segmented multi-channel solicitation calendar for leadership annual fund donors, including managing data queries and list pulls, coordination with external stakeholders and the Major Gifts team, and supporting segmentation and supplemental content development for each appeal.
  • Analyze appeal results, renewal and upgrade rates, donor response, and revenue performance; prepare reports to inform recommendations on future testing.
  • Generate regular progress reports and update proposal and constituent records to ensure all teams are meeting financial and participation goals for unrestricted contributions.
  • Partner with Relationship Managers to coordinate and tailor solicitation strategy and execution to donors under management and facilitate regular updates to proposal strategies throughout the year.
  • Support team stewardship activities and events as needed
  • Partner with the Founders’ Council Senior Manager on annual goal-setting, revenue projections, and year-round campaign plan
  • Benchmark and implement best practices across peer institutions to improve fundraising strategies
  • Other duties as assigned
