Public Outreach is hiring Animal Welfare Advocates to raise funds for nonprofit animal welfare campaigns through face-to-face conversations with the public throughout Los Angeles. Advocates work with a fundraising partner or team, explain the campaign they represent, answer questions, and ask people to become monthly donors. Campaigns may address animal cruelty, companion animals, animals affected by disasters, farmed animals, wildlife and habitats, harmful practices involving animals, public education, and long-term change for animals. This is an active, public-facing role rather than desk work. Shifts involve spending much of the time outdoors, walking, standing, and talking with people at changing outreach locations. The work is goal-oriented and requires resilience after rejection, reliability, openness to coaching, and a willingness to improve fundraising performance. No fundraising experience or prior animal welfare expertise is required; paid training and regular coaching are provided. The starting wage is guaranteed at $20 per hour, with opportunities for daily performance bonuses, regular pay reviews, and performance-based raises. The role offers approximately 21–35 hours per week, with full-time and part-time opportunities. Team members must commit to at least three complete seven-hour shifts each week. Current shifts generally run 10:00 AM–5:00 PM or 12:00 PM–7:00 PM, with some earlier weekend starts. Employees must reliably reach team meeting points and travel with their team to fundraising locations throughout Los Angeles. Public Outreach partners with nonprofit organizations to build sustainable support for their causes. The company describes itself as an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the hiring process.
