Cleans and sanitizes animal kennels; provides food and water to confined animals; walk dogs; makes routine inspections of animals and their cages to monitor health, safety, cleanliness of cages, etc. Provides office support activities including reception, records compilation, data entry, file management, etc. Processes adoption; takes information; takes fees; releases animals to owners. Participates in preparing animals for possible adoption; assists interested parties in claiming or adopting confined animals; processes required paperwork, collects fees, and provides receipts. Answers telephone calls from the public and provides information on a variety of animal control issues; dispatches animal control officers in response to calls for service. Maintains a variety of records and reports. Performs other related work as required.
