About The Position

Lucky Dog Bark & Brew Charlotte is seeking a dog-loving, kind, conscientious, and detail-oriented caregiver who wants to grow with a team of like-minded individuals. The role provides care for dogs in a daycare and boarding environment, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, productive teamwork, and guest service. Starting pay is $14.00 per hour, with raises based on performance.

The position involves supervising dog playgroups, learning canine behavior and body language, maintaining clean kennels and play areas, and providing daily care such as feeding, fresh water, clean bedding, and comfortable overnight spaces. Care may also include administering medication according to veterinary instructions. Team members solve problems, take initiative, follow safety protocols, communicate with coworkers and pet parents, and perform other duties as company needs evolve.

Requirements

• Must love dogs and animals.
• Able to work well with others and help ensure duties are completed and guests are cared for.
• Able to communicate properly, promptly, and effectively with team members, management, and pet parents.
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Keen observation skills and attention to detail to keep guests safe and comfortable and report issues.
• Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Able to stand or work upright for multiple hours, remain active throughout a shift, and work in all weather types.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous pet-care or animal experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dog playgroups and manage dogs’ behavior and playtime.
• Learn canine behavior and body language to help maintain a safe environment and make dogs comfortable in kennels and playgroups.
• Clean kennels and play areas, including cleaning toys, washing dishes, mopping floors, vacuuming hair, and handling dog messes.
• Feed pets according to their parents’ instructions and ensure dogs have fresh water, clean bedding, and comfortable overnight spaces.
• Administer medication according to veterinary instructions when needed.
• Use common sense to solve problems involving dogs in the company’s care.
• Take initiative in completing a range of tasks at the center.
• Communicate effectively and work with other team members.
• Provide basic customer service and speak with pet parents about their pets.
• Follow established safety protocols.
• Complete other duties as the company’s needs evolve.
