About The Position

The Animal Care Attendant Level 3 is responsible for providing daily care and feeding for cats, dogs, small animals, and animals housed in the URI and canine hospital wards. This role ensures a high standard of care and humane treatment for all animals while strictly adhering to shelter policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience
• At least six (6) months of hands-on experience working with dogs and cats
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable handling animals of all species and temperaments

Responsibilities

• Provide daily feeding and cleaning for cat, kitten, URI, dog, canine hospital, and small animal wards
• Maintain cleanliness and care standards across all assigned animal housing areas
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with other departments regarding animal care and needs
• Support laundry and dishwashing duties as required
• Prepare and post cats, dogs, and small animals for adoption on the adoption gallery
• Train and support Level 1 and Level 2 Animal Care Attendants
• Provide enrichment through socialization with cats, dogs (including walking), and small animals, as well as in-kennel activities, as required
• Enter animal care requests as needed
• Complete feeding and cleaning record sheets for each animal
