About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting people who are interested in adopting an Angel off the Angel Tree and recording information in a log book for each Angel adopted. This includes the Angel’s ID number with information on the adopting donor, including their name, address, and telephone number. The worker informs the adopting donor of the deadline for returning unwrapped gift items and answers any questions about Angel Tree and other programs of The Salvation Army, calling the supervisor or the office if necessary to obtain accurate information. A polite and courteous manner is expected at all times. The role also ensures that gifts are properly marked with the child's name and the Angel's ID number.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, paying close attention to detail in an environment where concentration may frequently be broken by interruptions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under limited supervision
  • Driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with the public is preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
