About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for two Anesthesiology positions due to departmental restructuring. The role involves inpatient and call coverage (off-site/beeper) in a setting with 12 ORs. Cases include General, Cardiac, Pediatrics, OB, and Nerve Blocks. The majority of the work will be in a supervision capacity for CRNAs. The schedule involves an average of 23 shifts per month, with specific scheduling structures being finalized. The patient population is 95% adult and 5% pediatrics. The EMR system used is Cerner, and credentialing takes approximately 90 days.

Requirements

  • Active Pennsylvania licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum 1-year experience or equivalent
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Board certification in Anesthesia by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania

  • Fellowship training in Anesthesia (may be preferred depending on the position)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
  • Conduct thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic testing including laboratory work, imaging, and other studies as appropriate
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
  • Manage ongoing patient care, including follow-up evaluations and coordination of treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical findings accurately and in compliance with facility standards
  • Respond to patient concerns and provide education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, credentialing requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Adapt quickly to new clinical environments, workflows, and electronic medical record systems
  • Stay current on medical advancements, clinical guidelines, and best practices through continuing medical education and professional development
