About The Position

We are seeking an Anesthesiologist for a Locum Tenens position in Duluth, MN. This inpatient role involves clinical duties plus call coverage, with shifts typically lasting 8-10 hours. The coverage is needed 1-2 weeks per month or approximately 40 hours per week, with on-call shifts including nights and weekends. The call type is beeper with a 20-minute response time. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a Level I Pediatric Center and 15 operating rooms, utilizing the Epic EMR system. The case mix is diverse, including Cardiac, Complete Ortho, Complex Vascular, Head Spine, Neuro, OB, Pediatric, Regional, and Thoracic cases.

General, Spinal, Epidural Anesthesia
Regional Anesthesia Surgery
Obstetrical Cases
Neurosurgical cases
Open Heart Anesthesia

Pain management techniques
Post-op epidural & extremity blocks
Epidural steroid for Lumbar & Cervical
Transforaminal
Use of x-ray guidance in performance of blocks
Ventilation management
Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
C-line, A-line & PA Catheter placement

Responsibilities

Provide general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for diverse surgical cases (cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, obstetric, pediatric, and trauma).
Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs and anesthesia assistants in a team-based model.
Manage perioperative patient assessment, monitoring, and post-operative care, including pain management.
Participate in beeper call coverage with 20-minute response time for emergencies and urgent procedures.
Perform procedures such as central/arterial line placement, PA catheter insertion, and ultrasound-guided blocks.
