Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
  • Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Eligible for or currently hold a Texas medical license
  • Comfortable with independent anesthesia case management and clinical decision-making
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and evidence-based anesthesia practices

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with orthopedic anesthesia and spine surgery cases preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with surgical teams

Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia independently for a diverse case mix including orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, spine procedures, and pain management
  • Perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative anesthesia care
  • Provide medical direction and supervision to Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who function with a high degree of independence
  • Manage anesthesia delivery for various surgical specialties in a hospital or ambulatory setting
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, nursing staff, and medical directors to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and anesthesia records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives
