About The Position

This job continually advances the training and skill set of anesthesia support personnel and thus improves the department's capabilities to support complex cases and higher volumes of cases. Provides advanced training milestones to decrease the amount of turnover among support personnel and improve employee satisfaction. Participates in the most difficult cases and assists anesthesia providers in the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment required for the safe administration of anesthesia. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of anesthesia tech experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting anesthesia equipment.
  • Basic analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self directed.

Nice To Haves

  • College credits in anatomy and physiology or basic science.
  • Medical related education
  • ASATT Anesthesia Tech Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs direct patient care duties.
  • Performs indirect patient care duties.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, environment in patient care and support areas.
  • Provides care based on age and developmental stage related competencies.
  • Participates in activities for self development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
  • Mentors and trains other Anesthesia Technicians.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • Complies with the Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including the immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
