About The Position

Amazing opportunity to join our team as we introduce comprehensive cardiothoracic surgery services to our growing array of heart and vascular care at the Elliot Heart and Vascular Center. Our highly skilled cardiothoracic surgeons, physician assistants, perfusionists, nurses and technologists provide advanced surgical treatments for conditions affecting the heart, lungs, and chest cavity. About the Job: To perform a variety of activities in support of Anesthesia personnel and ancillary Operating Room personnel while providing a safe environment for the administration of anesthesia care. To maintain the supportive continuum of safe anesthesia administration within cardiovascular services, including CVOR, Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab. To ensure the cleanliness of equipment and support patient safety by performing routine equipment checks. To function as an essential member of the Operating Room team and promote a professional, respectful, and efficient work and patient care environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Technician Certification from the State of New Hampshire is required.
  • Previous experience in an Operating Room setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with adult patients age 18 and over, geriatric patients, occasional infants, pediatric and adolescent patients, families, coworkers, physicians, and staff from other departments.
  • Ability to plan and perform diversified duties requiring basic knowledge of a variety of clinical tasks and the use of a wide range of procedures.
  • Involves some exercise of judgment in the analysis of facts and conditions regarding individual problems or transactions to determine what actions should be taken within the limits of standard practice.
  • Work schedule may include 4-12 hours per day with weekend coverage based on unit needs.
  • Personnel are expected to cover for absences by rotating or working extra shifts.
  • Personnel are assigned to one area upon employment but may be required to assume assignments in other areas to meet the needs of patients.
