About The Position

The UW Medical Center-Northwest Operating Rooms have an outstanding opportunity for a Anesthesia Technician. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift position. The role involves preparing, operating, and maintaining anesthesia and laboratory equipment such as physiological monitors and blood gas analyzers. The technician will assist medical staff with technical problems related to anesthesia and, under the general direction of the anesthesia provider, assist with the delivery of anesthesia, including the assembly, maintenance, evaluation, and operation of equipment used in complex procedures such as cardiovascular, Neurosurgical, and multi-trauma cases.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years as an Anesthesia Technician

Nice To Haves

  • Current ASATT certification as an Anesthesia Technician
  • Two years' experience with complex surgeries
  • Trauma experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, supplies, and equipment for each individual Anesthesia procedure.
  • Assist in the positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
  • Clean and prepare rooms between procedures and after last case; restock supplies, when necessary, and organize effectively for end-of-case cleanup.
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain anesthesia and laboratory equipment such as physiological monitors and blood gas analyzers.
  • Assist medical staff with technical problems related to anesthesia.
  • Under general direction of the anesthesia provider, assist the provider with the delivery of anesthesia, including the assembly, maintenance, evaluation, and operating of equipment used in complex procedures such as cardiovascular, Neurosurgical, and multi-trauma cases.
