Responsible for providing advanced technical support and expertise to the anesthesia care team. This role involves collaborating with the anesthesia care team to prepare and set up equipment and supplies for anesthesia administration during surgical procedures. It also includes assisting in patient positioning, monitoring vital signs, and administering anesthesia-related interventions as directed by the anesthesia provider. The technician will prepare and maintain anesthesia workstations, ensuring the availability, functionality, and proper calibration of equipment, and troubleshooting any technical issues. This role requires close collaboration with operating room staff, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth operations and maintain accurate records related to operating room operations, inventory, and equipment maintenance. A key aspect of this senior role is the principal responsibility for training new hires (Anesthesia Technician I) and serving as an educator for their career ladder advancement. This includes providing refresher training to maintain skill sets (e.g., cardiac, airway support), coordinating schedules, organizing content, and implementing annual skills assessments and reviews with the Manager. The role also involves designing additional training sessions as needed and acting as a liaison for the ASATT regional program director to encourage participation in the certification program, maintain rosters, lead engagement, and encourage continuing education and local ASATT conference participation. Collaboration with Anesthesia leadership at other entities across the system is also expected.
