About The Position

The Anesthesia Technician works under the direction of a supervisor to assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative procedures. The role supports anesthesia care through room preparation and turnover, supply and equipment management, equipment calibration and basic troubleshooting, sterilization procedures, and supply ordering. This is a 40-hour-per-week position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Skokie, Illinois.

Requirements

High school diploma or an associate degree.
With a high school diploma, one year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician, Patient Care Technician, or Emergency Medical Technician is required; an associate degree is acceptable if the candidate has no clinical experience.
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Ability to occasionally lift patients and equipment and to push and/or pull heavy objects.

Responsibilities

Assist during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative procedures under supervisor direction.
Set up supplies and equipment before procedures and turn over rooms afterward.
Audit, stock, and maintain anesthesia supply stations.
Calibrate point-of-care (POC) equipment.
Perform and document high-level sterilization procedures.
Provide basic equipment troubleshooting.
Order supplies through the Lawson Material Management System.
