About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Anesthesia Technician to support the surgical services team at Upstate University Hospital. The ideal candidate will assist anesthesia providers in a high-acuity, Level 1 trauma environment, ensuring the safe preparation, operation, and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supporting optimal patient care during surgical and procedural cases.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or equivalent training
Current BLS/CPR certification required prior to start
Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, sterile technique, and infection control
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure surgical environment
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

ASATT Certification preferred or required based on facility policy
3–5 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician preferred
Experience in a Level 1 trauma or high-acuity hospital setting strongly preferred
Experience supporting invasive procedures (central lines, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters) preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms for anesthesia procedures, including setup of monitoring equipment
Assist anesthesia providers during procedures such as central line, arterial line, and pulmonary artery catheter placement
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and related equipment
Perform room turnovers and ensure readiness between surgical cases
Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control practices
Clean, reprocess, and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies
Stock, order, and maintain anesthesia carts and supply areas
Support high-acuity cardiac, trauma, and emergency surgical cases
Ensure compliance with hospital safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical, and nursing teams to ensure efficient workflow
Participate in rotating shifts, weekends, and on-call coverage as required
