Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
Nice To Haves
- Certification by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
Responsibilities
- provide approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNA’s during the induction, maintenance and emergence from Anesthesia.
- assist the anesthesiologists/ CRNA’s with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
- maintain on a daily and case to case basis, the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost effective anesthesia care to all patients cared for by the Anesthesia Department.
- apply principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.
- set up sterile equipment, such as intravenous, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique.
- set up, operates, and disassembles cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
- perform all standard procedural checks on equipment; reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
- ensure the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE’s, fiber optic scopes and LMA’s.
- ensure workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift.
- perform other job related duties as assigned.
