About The Position

The Anesthesia Tech works in the Anesthesia Department under the direction of a supervisor, assisting with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative procedures. The role includes preparing supplies and equipment before procedures, setting up rooms and turning them over, maintaining anesthesia supply stations, calibrating point-of-care equipment, performing and documenting high-level sterilization procedures, troubleshooting equipment at a basic level, and ordering supplies through the Lawson Material Management System. This is a 40-hour-per-week position in Elmhurst, Illinois, scheduled Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. On-call coverage is required seven days per month, including rotating weekends and holidays. The schedule includes overnight weekday call, weekend call, and one 24-hour holiday call per year.

Requirements

High school diploma or associate degree.
With a high school diploma, at least one year of experience as an Anesthesia Tech, Patient Care Tech, or Emergency Medical Tech; an associate degree is accepted if the candidate has no clinical experience.
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Ability to occasionally lift patients and equipment and to push and/or pull heavy objects.

Responsibilities
