About The Position

Coming Soon to Chesterfield! Located at 10031 Nash Road, VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion will be a four-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center and medical office building, bringing comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient care closer to residents in one of Virginia’s largest counties. Scheduled to open in April 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will bring together surgical services, diagnostics, infusion therapy, pharmacy services, innovative care models, and more in a single, convenient location for Chesterfield residents. We are hiring team members now to help build the future of outpatient care from the ground up in one of Virginia’s fastest-growing communities. The Anesthesia Technician assists in the OR suites and off-floor sites in administering patient care as directed by the Anesthesiologist. The anesthesia technician sets up, moves, prepares and maintains all anesthesia machines, equipment and supplies for the Anesthesiologist. The Anesthesia Technician assists the Anesthesiologists with invasive and non-invasive monitoring. The Anesthesia Technician participates in the orientation, training and education of new personnel and maintains a safe and aseptic environment for all patients. This position performs all related duties as assigned and directed while adhering to the standards of nursing care and the policy and procedures of the Department of Anesthesiology. The Anesthesia Technician reports certified Anesthesia Technician Supervisor and the Chief CRNA.

Requirements

• Two years anesthesia support experience or Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire
• One (1) year experience in health care.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion and certification/licensure in one of the following: EMT-Basic Program, Medical Assistant program, State recognized CNA program required within 24 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Highly motivated, self-directed and conscientious individual capable of functioning in a stressful and fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year clinical experience in one of the following areas: Recovery, ICU, Emergency Room, Operating Room, or Medical/Surgical Unit
• Associate's Degree or course work in biological sciences
