About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Chief Clinical Transformation Officer, provides quality sedation and anesthesia care. Assembles necessary supplies and equipment for administering anesthesia or analgesia. Advises PPGNHAIK on necessary safety equipment. Provides the patient with optimal pain relief before, during and after procedural care. Reviews patient medical histories ensures that patient receives acceptable and safe medications based on past experience and reactions. Examines patients for physical or medical conditions that would interfere with the practice of safe anesthesia in the PPGNHAIK health centers. Delivers preoperative care and medications. Prepares anesthesia and analgesia for administration to patient. Administers anesthesia or analgesics according to standard community medical practices and using good clinical judgment. Monitors patient’s response to anesthesia and analgesia to maintain patient safety. Directs recovery care related to anesthesia and analgesia until patient is discharged per PPGNHAIK protocols. Identifies clinical emergencies and institutes appropriate measures. Maintains detailed records of all medications administered, and patient's response. Provides confidential healthcare per PPGNHAIK and HIPPA protocols. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standard; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following agency’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, and other governing agency regulations, and works with Health Center Managers in the maintenance of health center-based quality programs. Consults appropriately with the Abortion Program Director or Chief Clinical Transformation Officer regarding any care outside of PPGNHAIK scope of practice. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with universal precautions, WISHA, CLIA, PPFA, and PPGNHAIK policies and procedures. Maintains a cooperative relationship among the health care team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods; serving as a clinical expert and resource in the health centers. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Adheres to the PPGNHAIK code of conduct and all policies, procedures, and protocols. Demonstrates and maintains a high degree of professionalism. Takes action to support the affiliate’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Supports and acts in accordance with the PPGNHAIK customer service standards. Requirements

  • For CRNA: MS in Nurse Anesthesia required.
  • For physician: MD or DO with completion of accredited residency in anesthesiology.
  • CRNA: Active nursing license in WA
  • Anesthesiologist: Active medical license in WA
  • Active DEA license
  • CRNA: CRNA certification required.
  • ACLS

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience providing anesthesia preferred.

Responsibilities

  • In compliance with PPGNHAIK, independently administers sedation, anesthesia, and/or analgesia for gynecologic, family planning, or abortion procedures.
  • Delivers preoperative care and medications; works in accordance with PPGNHAIK protocols and training; demonstrates proficiency in conducting patient care in an electronic medical records (EMR) environment if required; contributes to the team effort of the health center and agency, thereby ensuring quality care and services for clients.
