Andrology Laboratory Technician
About The Position
US Fertility has an immediate opening for an Andrology Laboratory Technician at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York in Mount Kisco, New York. The position supports fertility care by performing routine sperm and blood analysis, processing specimens, completing laboratory procedures, and accurately reporting results. The technician also performs quality control, maintains equipment, and helps ensure laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs meet applicable requirements and industry standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with at least one weekend per month, additional days as needed, and every other holiday. Compensation is up to $24.04 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related science field.
- Experience in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt in changing situations.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in handling human tissue and following strict laboratory protocols.
- Proficiency using MS Office, patient EMR systems, and ROCHE systems.
Responsibilities
- Receive patient and/or staff specimens for routine sperm and blood analysis.
- Accession samples.
- Perform laboratory procedures and ensure results are reported accurately.
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain equipment.
- Ensure laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs meet requirements and industry standards established by qualified outside agencies.
