Apptegy, Inc. in Little Rock, AR seeks Android Engineer. This role involves enhancing current mobile applications and helping to build new ones. The engineer will work with other developers of various experience levels, participate in code reviews, and write technical documentation. The position requires delivering clean and stable code with tests and advocating for tech and engineering within the company. The work involves writing code in Kotlin using both Android Views and Jetpack Compose for new features, products, and platforms. The engineer will work in a SCRUM team with other Android, iOS, Backend, and Front End Engineers, discuss architecture, and dive deep into Design Patterns. Documentation will be written with the help of Product and Tech Ops, adhering to coding standards including best framework and language idioms. Close collaboration with Product Managers and Engineering leaders (CTO & VP) is expected. 100% Telecommuting is permitted from any location within the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related, or foreign equivalent
  • 4 years of experience in related occupations
  • 4 years of experience in developing Android mobile applications
  • 4 years of experience in building applications with Kotlin and Java
  • 4 years of experience in shipping Android apps to the Google Play Store
  • 4 years of experience in working on a software development team supporting or creating production-ready work
  • 4 years of experience in making decisions, architecting, or delivering robust backend features

Responsibilities

  • Enhance current mobile applications, while also helping to build new ones
  • Work with other developers of various experience levels
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Write technical documentation
  • Deliver clean and stable code with tests
  • Be an advocate for tech and engineering inside the company
  • Write code in Kotlin using both Android Views and Jetpack Compose for new features, new products/platforms
  • Work in a SCRUM team with other Android Engineers as well as iOS, Backend, and Front End Engineers
  • Discuss the best architecture for a feature and dive deep into Design Patterns
  • Write documentation with the help of Product and Tech Ops
  • Use coding standards including best framework and language idioms
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering leaders (CTO & VP)
