About The Position

The Search AI Product Engineering team is responsible for building an inspiring search and discovery experience for Coupang customers, helping users find products more easily and discover more products to enhance their lives. We are seeking smart, passionate individuals with a strong sense of ownership who want their work to positively impact millions of people. This is a full-stack team comprising Android, iOS, Web, and Backend engineers. As an engineer on this team, you will own one of Coupang's most critical product surfaces – the Search and Discovery surfaces, which account for over 60% of transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, or closely related fields.
• Experience developing high-quality, large-scale consumer applications.
• Experience in data analytic tools such as Presto or Jupyter.
• Ability to conduct complex A/B testing and experiment analysis.
• Deep understanding of UI development for Android.
• Experience with MVVM, Hilt, and Room.
• Strong communication skills and great product sense.
• Strong passion for building products.

Nice To Haves

• Master's or PhD in relevant technical fields.
• 6+ years of coding experience with Android, proficiency in Kotlin.
• Proficiency in React Native.
• Experience with iOS application development (Swift/Objective-C).
• Proven track record of strong ownership, ideally within an early-stage startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build brand new user experience products for Coupang's search and discovery experience.
• Help maintain the high quality of one or several critical search-related components on the Android platform, striving to wow customers with a robust, fluent, and fast app experience.
• Collaborate across teams with Product Managers, designers, and other functions to build a holistic experience that is right for Coupang users.
• Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative consumer-facing mobile products.
