As a mid level Android developer, you provide guidance on the development and maintenance of Charles Schwab's flagship thinkorswim® Android application! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a team of talented engineers, on one of the most sophisticated trading platforms in the world, built on a codebase we are constantly updating with the latest and greatest industry standards.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of socket based connectivity and Mobtr protocol
  • Good understanding of the TOS Mobile charting library

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting designs and converting them to usable features in the thinkorswim app
  • Helping support the team with bug fixes, code maintenance, testing, debugging, and documentation
  • Providing analysis of problems and recommending solutions
  • Working in conjunction with business analysts or more senior developers on product solutions
  • Implementing and maintaining application software throughout the full code life-cycle
  • Understanding and resolving mobile security issues
  • Working with asynchronous, non-blocking interactions
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues using best practices to support live applications
  • Prioritizes compliance, security, and scalability of data systems
  • Executes strategies to restore services promptly and address disruptions
  • Addresses QA challenges by applying best practices in testing and compliance
  • Validates requirements and constraints to support effective development and operations
  • Monitors and addresses security policy violations using best practices
  • Resolves software design challenges using predictive and adaptive methods
  • Applies best practices to build, test, and validate software components while resolving issues
