About The Position

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is seeking an Analyzer Technician with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. This role involves operating, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and installing various types of process gas and liquid chromatograph equipment used in the natural gas industry. The technician will also perform mechanical duties, maintain equipment, complete required reports, and collaborate with supervisors and other departments to ensure minimal interruption of product flow and efficient equipment performance. The position requires participation in cross-training, safety meetings, and training courses, as well as the ability to collect gas and NGL samples, and install and maintain sampling systems. Responsibilities also include acquiring site-specific data, scheduling and witnessing chromatograph tests, installing equipment from technical documentation, troubleshooting failures using test equipment, and operating PC software to improve the reliability of gas chromatographs. The technician will review procedures for performance improvement and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Ability to follow written or spoken instructions; understand equipment repair manuals; and Federal, state, and local codes and regulations is required.
  • General knowledge in the field of electronics, natural gas chemistry, gas chromatograph, operations, applications, equipment, and servicing methods is required.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical solutions is required.
  • Basic computer skills such as opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets are required.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties, and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner is required.

  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
  • Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
  • Must wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
  • The ability to take callouts and work overtime is required.
  • Must live or relocate to within one hour of the reporting location.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's degree in a technical field, such as Chemistry, Gas Measurement, Electronics, etc., is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of work experience in the natural gas industry is preferred.
  • A basic to advanced level of knowledge in gas measurement is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, repair, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and install bench and on-line, portable process gas/liquid chromatograph equipment.
  • Perform mechanical functions including inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical equipment.
  • Complete records of time and required regulatory reports.
  • Maintain contact with supervisor regarding maintenance issues and scheduled equipment maintenance.
  • Optimize work to minimize overtime.
  • Participate in cross-training to develop skills in other technician areas.
  • Attend all required safety meetings and training courses.
  • Properly collect gas and NGL samples.
  • Install, operate, and maintain gas and liquid sampling and sample conditioning systems.
  • Acquire site-specific information using stain tubes or electronic devices for H2S, CO2, O2, water content, and nitrogen.
  • Schedule, complete, and witness chromatograph tests.
  • Develop and maintain chromatograph test schedules.
  • Install equipment from drawings, schematics, and manufacturer's manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify equipment failures using voltmeters and test equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work with other departments for timely completion of installation and repair.
  • Operate appropriate PC software.
  • Improve the reliability of gas chromatographs.
  • Routinely review procedures for positive performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company and industry standards to meet regulatory agency requirements.
