About The Position

Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is seeking an Analyzer Technician with strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and skills. The role involves operating, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, adjusting, and installing various types of analyzer equipment used in the natural gas industry. Responsibilities include performing mechanical functions, maintaining equipment, completing records, and collaborating with supervisors to minimize interruptions and overtime. The technician will also participate in cross-training, attend safety meetings, collect samples, install equipment from drawings, and troubleshoot failures using test equipment. A key aspect of the role is improving the reliability of gas chromatographs and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
  • Ability to follow written or spoken instructions; understand equipment repair manuals; and Federal, state and local codes and regulations is required.
  • General knowledge in the field of electronics, natural gas chemistry, gas chromatograph, operations, applications, equipment and servicing methods is required.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
  • Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets are required.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner is required.

  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
  • Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
  • Must wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
  • The ability to take callouts and work overtime is required.
  • Must live or relocate to within one hour of reporting location.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's degree in a technical field, such as: Chemistry, Gas Measurement, Electronics, etc. is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ work experience in the natural gas industry is preferred.
  • A basic to advanced level of knowledge in gas measurement is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, repair, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and/or install bench and on-line, portable process gas / liquid chromatograph equipment used in the natural gas industry.
  • Perform mechanical functions and duties of inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing all mechanical equipment in order to maintain high levels of safe and productive equipment performance.
  • Properly complete records of time and required regulatory reports.
  • Maintain close contact with the supervisor regarding maintenance trouble reports and scheduled equipment maintenance to affect a minimum interruption of product throughout.
  • Optimize work to affect a minimal amount of overtime.
  • Participate in available cross training to effectively develop skills in areas specific to other technicians.
  • Attend all safety meetings and safety training courses as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Properly collect gas and NGL samples.
  • Install, operate, and maintain gas and liquid sampling and sample conditioning systems.
  • Acquire information on site using stain tubes or electronic devices for obtaining H2S, CO2, O2, water content and nitrogen.
  • Schedule, complete, and witness chromatograph tests.
  • Develop and maintain chromatograph test schedules.
  • Install equipment from drawings, schematics, and manufacturer's manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify equipment failures using voltmeters and test equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work with other departments to ensure timely completion of equipment installation and repair.
  • Operate appropriate PC software.
  • Improve the reliability of the gas chromatographs currently in use at the plants and on the pipeline system.
  • Routinely review procedures to achieve positive performance.
  • Ensure compliance of all Company and industry standards to meet the requirements of all regulatory agencies.
