About The Position

The Analytics Engineer Intern joins Workday’s Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) team, launched in 2024 to transform and optimize how Workday creates and shares trusted data for actionable insights and data-led innovation. Under the direct guidance of senior engineering leaders, the intern contributes to the data transformation lifecycle by turning raw data ingestion streams into structured, reliable data assets for downstream business intelligence frameworks. The role includes writing clean, modular dbt code within repository controls, logging schema updates, and making raw inputs available as discoverable data views. The intern develops foundational data literacy and learns how data translates into business metrics while collaborating with peers and participating in squad rituals. The role also involves adopting workspace AI productivity tools, including Sana and Gemini, to reduce routine reporting friction, automate standard documentation tasks, and increase individual delivery capacity. The intern participates in Workday’s in-person Intern Program, which offers meaningful project work, applied learning, personalized coaching, and connection events. Within Product & Technology, the intern also participates in the P&T Atmosphere program, which provides tailored technical training, deep dives into the Workday ecosystem, and connections with P&T leaders and peers.
