The purpose of the role is to design, develop, implement, and maintain various statistical, mathematical, and machine learning models to support decision-making by analysis and solving complex problems. This role involves acquiring and collecting data from various sources, performing data cleaning and pre-processing, and designing data management strategies. The AVP will design, develop, and implement statistical and machine learning models for applications such as credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and marketing optimization. They will monitor model performance, lead training sessions, and evaluate emerging technologies. As an Assistant Vice President, the individual will advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. They will collaborate closely with other functions, lead a team, set objectives, and coach employees. For an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, identify new directions for projects, and consult on complex issues. They will also identify ways to mitigate risk, develop new policies/procedures, and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls. The role requires performing work closely related to other areas, understanding how areas coordinate, and collaborating with business-aligned support areas. The AVP will engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively, and communicate complex information, influencing stakeholders to achieve outcomes. The Analytics Assistant Vice President - US Quantexa will play a pivotal role in conducting detailed model analysis, tuning, optimization, and analytics across Transaction Monitoring systems deployed in the US and globally. They will collaborate with stakeholders including Control Owners, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and Model Validation teams, communicating clearly on model risk, performance, and lifecycle data. The role ensures TM solutions are rigorously built and embedded into routine processes, enabling early identification of money laundering and financial crime risks through advanced analytics. Alongside business-as-usual responsibilities, the AVP will contribute to transformation projects, helping design and deliver strategic detection solutions that strengthen Barclays’ financial crime prevention framework.
